Choose how the stream is encoded
Modern GPUs include media engines that can handle stream encoding with a different performance profile from CPU software encoding. Application support, codec choice and desired quality determine whether extra CPU cores materially improve the workflow. Decide this path before using a vague “streaming needs more cores” rule.
A single-PC setup must keep the game responsive while capture, overlays, browser sources, chat and audio tools run. Measure memory use and background CPU load in the complete scene collection.
Build for sustained operation
Use stable wired networking when possible, enough fast storage for local recordings and cooling that can sustain simultaneous loads without excessive noise. The power supply should cover CPU and GPU demand together rather than relying on separate peak estimates.
