Necessary account cookies

CookiePurpose and lifetime
tm_sessionKeeps a registered account connected to its server-side session for up to 30 days. It is HttpOnly and stores an opaque token; only a one-way digest is stored in MySQL. Signing out or changing the password revokes the affected session.
tm_challenge_browserBinds a six-digit verification image to this browser for up to 10 minutes, reducing replay and cross-browser abuse during registration and sign-in.

These cookies are strictly necessary for account access and may be set before you click Agree. The verification image prevents some automated abuse; it does not verify ownership of the email address.

Cookie notice choice

tm_cookie_consent records version v1 of your acknowledgement for up to 180 days. It is readable by the site so the notice does not appear on every visit. Clearing browser cookies makes the notice appear again.

No advertising or analytics cookies

TechMuz does not currently set advertising, behavioral analytics or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy and any required choices will be updated before those technologies are activated.

Your controls

You can delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking the necessary sign-in cookies prevents account access but does not prevent anonymous use of public TechMuz content, PC Builder, catalogs or compatibility tools.
